Montreuil sur-Mer

This fortified town, encircled by 2 miles of a lovely walk around the ramparts, and dominated by the Citadel, not only provides many sites of history interest, but is also noted for the abundance of its prize-winning floral displays, its superior cuisine and its numerous hiking trails.

The Opal Coast

Close to Montreuil is one of Europe's loveliest coastlines. Less than an hour's drive are 2 promontories and their sea cliffs, the bay of the Somme river, the park of Marquenterre, the sand dunes of Merlimont and berk (10 miles) or the well-known resort of Le Touquet (17 miles). There are many walks in lovely areas.
